rayyeh 該用戶已被刪除 | It is very often to see some verbs' PP can be used as an adjective. I am wondering that is there a rule or grammar for it? Because there are some verbs can be used in that way, some verbs can't. For example, the verb "conflict" cannot be used like "The two statements are conflicted.". We can only say "The two statements conflict with each other. ". The verb "fail" cannot be used like "The project is failed.". We can only say "The project has failed". However, there are some verbs such as "please", "update", "hide" and "break" which are often to be used as an adj. Such as "Those customers are pleased.", "There is a hidden agenda." and "The machine is broken". This question is hard to be answered by Google and Yahoo. Is there a grammar expert can help? ... |
